Dire Straits Legacy: celebrating the music of Dire Straits
The Dire Straits Legacy project was born from the love and respect for the music of Dire Straits, and to bring the music to fans who have been starved of hearing it played live by the musicians who made it, for far too long. Since Dire Straits played their last gig on the On Every Street tour in 1992, Mark Knopfler has left Dire Straits behind.
Dire Straits Legacy brings together the members of Dire Straits who made those iconic records so they can bring the music to the fans, the following members of Dire Straits have joined us: John Illsley, Phil Palmer, Alan Clark, Mel Collins, Jack Sonni, Trevor Horn, Danny Cummings, Pick Withers and Chris White.
After a meeting in Milan the band’s first tour was planned, which had a line-up of Phil Palmer, Pick Withers, Danny Cummings, Jack Sonni, Mel Collins, Marco Caviglia and Primiano Dibase. This was a major success with five sold out shows in Italy, as was the second tour when John Illsley and Steve Ferrone joined the band for 9 theatre shows when on the last show 20,000 happy people cheered the band.
And now, after many requests for the band to play in other countries
Wonderland Promotions and Joe Gallagher Entertainments bring the latest incarnation of Dire Straits Legacy to Belfast Waterfront Hall on Sunday 9th October 2022.
Drawing from six platinum albums, DSL's incredible live show features all of the classic Dire Straits hits including Money for Nothing, Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliet, Walk of Life, Brothers in Arms, Tunnel of Love and many more on Sunday 9th October 2022 will be a trip down memory lane for Dire Straits Fans.
